A Locomotive with a Rich Railway History

Originally constructed by Brush Traction in Loughborough in January 1990 under Works No. 910, Class 60 locomotive No. 60008 was delivered to Immingham Docks on 8 December 1992. Initially carrying the Trainload Metals Sector livery and the name 'Moel Fammau', the locomotive was later renamed 'Gypsum Queen II' and received the distinctive Loadhaul livery.

Following its Loadhaul service, the locomotive was repainted in EWS maroon and yellow. On 11 April 2006, it received the name 'Sir William McAlpine'. After nearly two decades of railway service, No. 60008 was withdrawn in September 2010 and stored at Toton before being transferred to Brush on 10 June 2022.
