Add a classic Great Western Railway express locomotive to your collection with the newly tooled GWR Saint Class No. 2975 ‘Lord Palmer’. Produced in detailed 1:76 scale OO Gauge, this beautifully crafted steam locomotive captures the elegance and engineering excellence of one of the GWR’s most influential locomotive classes.
Originally entering service in March 1905 as No. 175, the locomotive was later named Viscount Churchill before being renumbered 2975 in 1912. Renamed Sir Ernest Palmer in 1924 and finally Lord Palmer in 1933 following Ernest Palmer's elevation to the peerage, the locomotive enjoyed nearly four decades of service on the Great Western Railway. Following extensive damage in an accident at Appleford in 1942, it was eventually withdrawn from service in November 1944 after an impressive 39 years of operation.
This highly detailed Hornby model features sprung metal buffers, NEM couplings, and a 21-pin DCC-ready socket, allowing easy installation of an HM7000 decoder (sold separately) for advanced digital control and sound upgrades.
Perfect for collectors, railway enthusiasts, and Great Western Railway modellers.
Suitable for ages 14 and up.
