Celebrate 90 years of speed, style, and engineering excellence with the Hornby Dublo LNER Class A4 2509 ‘Silver Link’, the first of Gresley’s iconic A4 Pacifics. Marking its record-breaking debut on the Silver Jubilee service in 1935, this premium diecast metal model honours a true legend of British steam.

Crafted with a die-cast chassis and body for superior weight and performance, this model also features a flickering firebox, 5-pole skew-wound motor, and DCC Ready 21-pin socket for easy digital conversion. Supplied with an accessory pack that includes driver and fireman figures, it combines period detail with modern features for an exceptional collector-grade locomotive.

Historical Note:
Entering service in September 1935, ‘Silver Link’ was the first of the A4 class and famously hauled the streamlined ‘Silver Jubilee’ express between London King’s Cross and Newcastle. Its early silver livery was replaced by LNER Garter Blue in 1937, then wartime black during WWII, and later returned to blue post-war. The locomotive was withdrawn in December 1962 from King’s Cross Top Shed.
