British Rail introduced the FFA bogie container wagon during the 1960s as part of the development of its Freightliner network. Designed to carry containers based around modern ISO shipping standards, these wagons represented an important change in the way freight moved across Britain's railway system.

FFA wagons formed part of permanently coupled Freightliner sets and featured continuous air braking, helping usher in a more efficient era of containerised rail freight.

Hornby's 1:76 scale OO Gauge model recreates the distinctive low-profile container wagon and includes two colourful 30ft containers. One represents Evergreen in green, while the other carries the familiar Hapag-Lloyd presentation, giving the model plenty of visual interest on a freight layout.
