Relive a memorable chapter of Australian touring car history with the Scalextric C4702F Ford XY Falcon GT-HO Phase III #1D, representing Allan Moffat’s entry in the 1972 Hardie-Ferodo 500 at Bathurst.
Moffat arrived at Mount Panorama as the winner of the previous two Bathurst enduros and put the mighty Phase III Falcon on pole position. The 1972 race, however, became famous for wet conditions that transformed the contest and made the already demanding Mount Panorama circuit even more challenging.
After battling Peter Brock for the lead during the opening stages, Moffat spun at Sulman Park in the wet but fought his way back into contention. His race was further complicated by pit-stop penalties and later brake problems, eventually bringing the #1D Falcon home in ninth position.
The race ultimately became a landmark event in Australian motorsport, with Peter Brock claiming the first of his record nine Bathurst victories.
Scalextric recreates Moffat's legendary Ford XY Falcon GT-HO Phase III in detailed 1:32 scale, capturing the muscular shape and distinctive #1D racing presentation of one of Australia's most celebrated performance cars.
Produced as an Australian limited release of just 1,500 models, C4702F offers plenty of appeal for Scalextric racers, Ford enthusiasts and Australian motorsport collectors alike.

Bathurst 1972 History
The 1972 Hardie-Ferodo 500 was the first Bathurst enduro to be significantly affected by rain. Allan Moffat started from pole in the #1D Falcon after winning the previous two Bathurst races, but the wet conditions, penalties and brake problems prevented a third consecutive victory.
Peter Brock went on to win in the Holden Dealer Team Torana, while John French finished second in another Ford XY Falcon GT-HO Phase III. Moffat finished ninth, eight laps behind the winner.
