Historical Note:
Introduced alongside other ‘Silver Jubilee’ A4s, ‘Silver Fox’ entered service in the mid-1930s, later transitioning from silver/grey to Garter Blue in 1937, then wartime black during WWII. It was later renumbered to 60017 and received BR blue and finally BR lined green in 1952. A Kylchap double chimney was fitted in 1957 before its withdrawal from Peterborough’s New England shed in October 1963.
