Built by Hitachi Rail for LNER, the real Class 800 units form part of the Government’s Intercity Express Programme (IEP). First constructed at Hitachi’s Newton Aycliffe factory in 2014, these bi-mode trains operate seamlessly across electrified and non-electrified routes.
